• Create a new Constituent query
     
    • On the Criteria tab, select:
      • Gifts, Funds, Fund ID one of [the specific funds]
         
    • On the Output tab, select:
      • Gifts, Gift Amount
         
      • Gifts, Gift Date
         
      • Gifts, Funds, Fund ID
         
      • Constituent Information, Key Indicator
         
  • Create a new pivot report

    Total Gift Amount


    The pivot report allows us to further drill down the Key Indicator, Fund ID and the year by using the drop down arrow next to each. The overall total will be represented by the the Grand Total column. This will be the amount of all the years combined. You will notice that in the report above Individual constituents' have given to both 2008 Annual & 2009 Annual Funds in 2008 & 2009.
    • Select the Field list Icon Field List 
       
    • Expand the Reference field in the field list by clicking on the plus sign
       
    • Click and drag the Key Indicator field to "Drop Filters Fields Here"
       
    • Expand the Fund ID field in the field list by clicking on the plus sign
       
    • Click and drag the Fund ID field to "Drop Row Fields Here"
       
    • Expand the Gift Date Breakdown field in the field list by clicking on the plus sign
       
    • Click and drag the Year field to "Drop Columns Fields Here"
       
    • Click and drag the Total Gift Amount field to "Drop Totals or Detail Fields Here"

Note: In The Raiser's Edge version 7.94 and higher, the gift date will not automatically be grouped by year. To fix this, in the Pivot report, right-click on any Gift Date listed, and choose Group.  Under the "By" section, highlight Years only. Click OK. The report will be updated to group by year.
