Ensure that users are able to log into the database. If user is not able to log into the database, they cannot use this utility. If the error persists, complete each step below until the issue is resolved:

  1. Detach and reattach the database
  2. Refer to Error: Invalid login. You have entered an invalid user ID or password.
This issue may also occur when ODBC Data Sources do not exist for the Raiser's Edge database, on the machine where the utility is being run from. If this is the case, complete the following steps to create the ODBC Data Sources:
  1. Rename the BBUpdate.ini file.
  2. Launch the Raiser's Edge from the shortcut on the desktop.
  3. Try running the utility again.
