Below are a few sample formulas that can be added to ResearchPoint. Blackbaud recommends using these formulas on Confirmed Assets rather than Identified Assets. For more information on confirming wealth data, reference solution How to confirm or deny Wealth details (BB458529)

Private Company Ownership (use when private company ownership is the primary asset):
On Assets tab, uncheck all but Business Ownership. If business ownership is less than $100,000, multiply value X 1, else multiply X 10. Use total asset value on Calculation tab. On the Calculations tab, use age dependent major giving multipliers, but set age unknown to .03.

Real Estate Up Market (Use when real estate is the primary asset and most property is in an expensive market (e.g., Metropolitan Calif and other coastal areas)):
On Assets tab, uncheck all but Real Estate. If real estate is less than $1,000,000, multiply value X 1, else multiply X 4. Use total asset value on Calculation tab. On the Calculations tab, use age dependent major giving multipliers, but set age unknown to .03.

• Real Estate Mid and Down Market (Use when real estate is the primary asset and most property is in a mid or down market (e.g., inland cities, midwest)):
On Assets tab, uncheck all but Real Estate. If real estate is less than $500,000, multiply value X 1, else multiply X 4. Use total asset value on Calculation tab. On the Calculations tab, use age dependent major giving multipliers, but set age unknown to .03.

Stock Direct and Indirect (Use when stock is the primary asset and indirect stock ownership is either not a factor or is known to be controlled by the prospect):
On Assets tab, uncheck all but Securities. If stock value is less than $100,000, multiply value X 1, else multiply x 5. On Assets tab, select Total Value in the "Value to use in calculation" field. Use total asset value on Calculation tab. On the Calculations tab, use age dependent major giving multipliers, but set age unknown to .03.

Stock Direct Only (Use when stock is the primary asset and ownership of indirect stock is unknown or known to be not controlled by the prospect):
Setup is the same as for Stock Direct and Indirect, but on the Asset tab, select "Direct Holdings Value" instead of "Total Value" in the "Value to use in calculation" field.
