Error: Skill must be unique within each category

The error: "Skill must be unique within each category" may occur when adding a new skill or modifying the category of an existing skill.

If the error occurs when adding a new skill:

     1. In Configuration, Registrar Setup, highlight Skills
     2. Mark the checkbox to "Show Inactive skills"
     3. If an inactive skill exists with the same name it can be re-activated by unmarking the "Inactive" checkbox OR the skill can be renamed

If there are no inactive skills with this name:
  1. Slightly change the name of the skill; i.e., adding a 1 to the end of it
  2. Add the correct category and display name to the skill, and then click out of the skills section
  3. Go back into the Skills section, change the skill name back to what it was originally
  4. Click out, no longer receive error
NOTE: When a skill is not assigned a category, the system treats it as being associated with all categories

If the skill name exists and is not assigned to a category:

     1. Change the name of the skill so that it is unique OR assign the existing skill to a specific category

If the error occurs when modifying the category of an existing skill:

     1. In Configuration, Registrar Setup, highlight Skills
     2. Select the blank in the Category drop-down
     3. Modify the category of the skill

NOTE: This error will occur when a specific category is selected from the drop-down and the category is modified on an existing skill
