• Edit the Data Tune-Up Settings

      1. Go to Administration > Data Tune-Up
         
      2. On the Task menu (left-hand side of the page), click "Edit Data Tune-Up settings"
         
      3. Under "Address Formatting", choose the style of the address lines using the pictures provided
         
      4. Check "Do not abbreviate address elements according to USPS format" if you wish to have address elements spelled out (includes street, drive, apartment, etc.).
         
      5. Check "capitalize the entire address" if you wish to have all caps rather than proper case
          
      6. Click Save to save these settings.
         



       
      • Create a File

        1. From the Data Tune-Up page, in the Change of address update process section, click Add. The Add change of address update screen appears.
           
        2. In the Name field, enter a name for you new data file.
           
        3. In the Description field, enter a description that will help you identify the information included in the new data file.
           
        4. If your organization includes a number of different sites and the site information is entered in the system, you can base your updates on a selected Site. You can run one change of address per site. You can also leave this field blank if you do not want to base the update on a specific site.
           
        5. In the Primary contact frame, enter the name, telephone number, and email address of the individual in your organization we should contact with any questions about your data submission and inform when the data update is ready.
           
        6. In the Alternate contact frame, enter the name, telephone number, and email address of the individual in your organization we should contact with any questions about your data submission and inform when the data update is ready should we not be able to reach your primary contact.
           
        7. Click Save. The information is saved and a new page appears displaying the steps necessary to complete the data update process.
           



         
        • Submit the File

          1. After you create a data file, a screen appears displaying the new data file name and the steps necessary to update the data. In the Step 1 frame, click Start. The Run change of address update submit process screen appears.
             
          2. In the Selected constituent field, click the binocular button to access the Selection Search screen. From this screen, you can locate the selection of records you want to update. If the selection does not exist, you can create a new selection by clicking the Add button.
             
          3. In the Addresses frame, select the address you want to include in the data file. If you select Specific address, the Address type field activates, and you must select an address type: home, business, billing.
             
          4. You can also select to Include addresses marked as Do Not Mail. Marking this checkbox includes addresses designated as Do Not Mail in your system. If unmarked, these addresses are not included in the export.
             
          5. If you mark Create selection from results, a selection file is created and stored in Query. It contains all updated addresses. If you mark this checkbox, you must enter a Selection name. You can also choose to Overwrite existing selection. If marked, every time you run this update, the program overwrites the selection created from the previous update with the information from the most recent update.
             
          6. To view a list of constituents included in the update selection, click the Preview tab.
             
          7. To send the data file to Blackbaud, click Start. The processing page appears tracking the send.
             



           
          • Check the File Availability


            You can check on the availability of a pending update file at any time. From the Change of Address process page, click the Check file availability link on the Tasks pane on the left side of the page.
