If you are using Crystal XI:

  1. Select File > New > Blank Report.
  2. Select "+" to expand on Create New Connection.
  3. Select "+" to expand on Database Files.
  4. Browse for the appropriate database export file (.MDB) and open it.
  5. Highlight the file path to your export file and click the double right arrow button to move them to the Selected Tables column on the right.
  6. Click OK to go to the Links tab.
  7. Double click on each link (black line between the tables) to open the Link Options window.
  8. Change the Join Type from to Left Outer Join.
  9. Repeat Step 7-8 to change all links.
  10. Click OK on the Database Expert dialog box.

If you are using Crystal 8.5:

  1. Select File > New
  2. Select "As a Blank Report"
  3. Select "+" to expand on Database Files.
  4. Double-click on Find Database File.
  5. Browse for the appropriate database export file (.MDB) and open it.
  6. Use the Shift or Ctrl key to highlight all of the tables in data file
  7. Click Add (a green checkmark should appear next to each table)
  8. Then click Close
  9. The Visual Linking Expert window should appear
  10. Click Tables
  11. Move any tables from the Invisible Tables box to the Visible Tables box and click OK.
  12. Click OK on the Visual Linking Expert dialog box.
