This prompt should only occur when logging in for the first time after a change has been made in the Blackbaud Management Console on an operating system that has User Account Control enabled.

NOTE: Disabling User Account Control will not prevent this message from occurring.

  1. When this prompt displays, please choose "Yes", and continue with The Financial Edge or The Education Edge login process.  
  2. If the prompt continues after choosing "Yes", then navigate to the folder listed below and rename the BBUpdate.ini file to ~BBUpdate.ini:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge\ (if 64-bit operating system)
    C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge\ (if 32-bit operating system)
  3. Right-click on the Blackbaud application icon on the desktop and select Run as Administrator, and click Yes when prompted.
