Try each step in order until the issue is resolved:
  1. Delete temporary files
  2. Empty the Recycle Bin
  3. If not present already, include a query in the export
  4. Change the query from dynamic to static
  5. Change the Export's format to Comma Separated Values (CSV) at Tools > Export Options
  6. Remove all unnecessary items from the query output, preferably everything except constituent name
  7. Break larger queries into smaller groups, such as by constituent ID or by Name
  8. Recreate the query entirely
  9. Verify user has permissions to the folder to which files will be exported
  10. Alter the file's save location to save to the same environment where The Raiser's Edge is present:
    • If your Raiser's Edge is hosted by Blackbaud, save to the Hosting Services Files folder
    • If your Raiser's Edge is locally installed (workstation client), save to the export to the local hard drive and not a network/shared drive
  11. For locally installed Raiser's Edge and especially large exports, try running the Export directly on the Raiser's Edge server
  12. If the file creates partially, appearing to stop/hang at the same point, remove the record just after that point from the query
