The following is a list of possible causes and resolutions for Queue problems:

  • Validate the Queue:
    1. From the Administration page, click Queue

    2. Open the scheduled Queue

    3. Select Tools, Validate from the menu bar. Any exceptions will be listed in a validation control report. Correct any exceptions.

Note: Run the validation from the machine that the Queue service is running on. Running the validation from another machine can have different results.

  • Verify the export/import path is correct:

    1. From the Administration page, click Queue

    2. Open the scheduled Queue

    3. Select the queue item and click Open

    4. If it is an Export, verify the Export path is a valid path from the machine running the Queue service.

If it is an Import, select the import and click Open. Verify the Import file and path is valid.

Note: If the path is a valid mapped drive but the queue still fails, use the UNC naming convention instead of the mapped drive letter for the path.

e.g. If the X:\ drive is mapped to \\NTServer\Blackbaud\ and the import file is under X:\Import\Import.CSV, change the path from X:\Import\Import.CSV to \\NTServer\Blackbaud\Import\Import.CSV

    5. Grant Full Control for the directory where the report is being exported to the FE Queue Service or the RE Queue Service. If the error still occurs, use a local drive or a UNC path, instead of a mapped network drive as the destination directory.

    • Open the FE (RE) Queue Service and check the Log on tab:
      1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services

      2. Open the FE Queue Service (or RE Queue Service) and select the Log On tab

      3. If the service is using Local System account, then select the General tab and click Stop

      4. Change the log on to a specific user account who has Full Control to the directory where the report is being exported

      5. Click Apply

      6. Select the General tab and click Start
