Notes:

  • Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup solution.
  • Incorrect changes to registry settings can cause serious system problems that may be irreversible without reinstallation of the operating system. You must back up your registry before making any registry changes. We are not responsible for damage resulting from incorrect use of the Registry Editor.
  • If running the Financial Edge version 7.3 or higher, uninstalling The Education Edge or Blackbaud Student Information System also uninstalls The Financial Edge products. If running an earlier version of The Financial Edge without Admissions and Registrar's Office 7, the steps are the same.
  1. If you are uninstalling on the server, detach the database.
  2. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
  3. If using Windows XP, Double-click Add/Remove Programs.  If using Vista or Windows 7/8, then select Programs and Features
  4. Select The Financial Edge,  The Education Edge, or Blackbaud Student Information System
    • For Windows XP, click Remove
    • For Windows Vista, 7 and 8, click Uninstall
  5. Reboot the workstation.

If the program has not uninstalled completely or if the program is still listed in Add/Remove Programs

  1. Edit the registry
  2. Rename the following keys, if present (as an example: place a ~ symbol or another character at the beginning of the key being renamed):
    • All the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackbaud\ Rename any keys that begin with AFNIni, and The Financial Edge key
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{92842373-62E9-11D4-B051-00E0290ECEED}
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{EDC4971A-4A9F-4ABB-B7B2-E92008467015}
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{84E36537-CDE4-4F17-9531-AFEEBBEF312E}
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackbaud\FE7Install
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\A1794CDEF9A4BBA47B2B9E0280640751
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\73563E484EDC71F45913FAEEBBFE13E2
  3. Delete the following folders, if present:
    On 32 bit Windows machines:
    • C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{92842373-62E9-11D4-B051-00E0290ECEED}
    • C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{EDC4971A-4A9F-4ABB-B7B2-E92008467015}
    • C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Blackbaud  (Note: AppData is a hidden folder)
    • C:\Program Files\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge

    On 64 bit Windows machines:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{92842373-62E9-11D4-B051-00E0290ECEED}
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{EDC4971A-4A9F-4ABB-B7B2-E92008467015}
    • C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud (Note: AppData is a hidden folder)
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge
       
  4. Reboot the workstation. This must be done to fully remove the workstation components.

Note: An alternate method for launching The Financial Edge/The Education Edge/Blackbaud Student Information System uninstaller is to run the following command from a Run line: msiexec.exe /x {84E36537-CDE4-4F17-9531-AFEEBBEF312E} This method will not work if you already ran the uninstall from Add/Remove Programs.
