If the error is occurring on the server, then complete the following in the order listed until the issue is resolved:
  1. Open the Blackbaud Management Console (BMC) and verify that at least one database is attached
  2. Edit the database description for a database in the Blackbaud Management Console (BMC)
  3. Detach/reattach the sample and/or live databases from the Blackbaud Management Console (BMC)
  4. Uninstall The Financial Edge, The Education Edge or Blackbaud Student Information System and reinstall The Financial Edge \ The Education EdgeBlackbaud Student Information System and re-apply any applicable patch
If the error is occurring on a workstation, then complete the following in the order listed until the issue is resolved:
  1. Log onto the computer with a Windows account that has local administrator rights or the required NTFS rights
  2. Locate and rename the BBUpdate.ini file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge\)
  3. Locate and browse to your deploy folder, open the deploy.ini and confirm that you have database information under [Database1], and only 1 line that states Initialized=Yes.  If either of the two are incorrect, then complete steps 1-3 in the server section above until the information is correct in the deploy.ini file
  4. Uninstall The Financial Edge, The Education Edge or Blackbaud Student Information System and re-install The Financial Edge \ The Education Edge \ Blackbaud Student Information System from the deploy folder and re-apply any applicable patch
