PDF attachment is blank when sending eReceipts

eReceipts are an additional way for users to send donors receipts and gift acknowledgements.  When a donor receives an eReceipt, he or she will see an email from the organization and a PDF attachment that contains the actual receipt or gift acknowledgement.  Some donors have seen that the PDF attachment is blank.  This occurs when the Adobe Reader doesn't recognize the font in the PDF attachment or when the user is accessing the eReceipt from a GMail account.

This issue can have multiple causes.  Try each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved.
  1. Edit the Word merge document to use a font that is recognized by more programs such as "Times New Roman" or "Arial."
  2. If sending the eReceipts from version 7.91.40, patch 1 and the end user is opening the PDF from a GMail account, upgrade to the latest version.
  3. Reinsert The Raiser's Edge merge fields in the letter template using the Word Merge Wizard
