Prerequisites to enable TCP/IP and Named Pipe:
  1. Review system requirements:
    • FundWare - Terminal Server Professional
    • FundWare - Standalone Server Professional   
  2. If upgrading FundWare, contact Support to request your 7.60 registration number.
     
  3. Blackbaud recommends SQL Server 2008 is installed
  4. Install SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility for FundWare

To finish configuring the SQL Server, you need to perform the following:
  1. Open Start, Programs, Microsoft SQL Server, Configuration Tools, and click SQL Server Configuration Manager
  2. Expand the SQL Server Network Configuration item. Select Protocols for MSSQLSERVER. Right-click on Named Pipes and set the Status to Enabled instead of Disabled
  3. Expand the SQL Server Network Configuration item. Select Protocols for MSSQLSERVER. Right-click on TCP/IP and set the Status to Enabled instead of Disabled
  4. The following prompt will appear: "Any changes made will be saved; however, they will not take effect until the service is stopped and restarted", click OK
  5. Once both items are enabled, stop and restart the SQL service by double-clicking the SQL Service Services icon in the left pane, then right-click on the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) item and choose Restart
  6. Verify the SQL Server Browser service is set to LocalSystem. If it is NOT set to LocalSystem, then double-click the SQL Server Browser service to open it. Change the “Built In Account” to Local System and click Apply
  7. Verify SQL Server Browser is running and close Configuration Manager
