For your convenience, we have placed the particular settings needed to work with Altru below. However, Cherry Keyboards are a third-party product and thus outside of Blackbaud's scope of support. For additional assistance on this issue, please contact Cherry.

To work with Altru, go to the Magnetic Card section of the Cherry Designer, and ensure that the following settings are in place:
  1. Under the Common Options section, check the following buttons and boxes:
    • Redirectional reading, enable reset of NUM, CAPS, SCROLL
    • Buzzer: Enabled for good read (Duration 100 ms)
    • LED: Enabled for good read (Duration 100 ms)
  2. Under Tracks, check the following buttons and boxes:
    • Send immediately
    •  Track end check
    •  LRC Check
    • Start- /Stop character output should be unchecked
    • Show LRC should be unchecked
  3. Under Track 1, check the following boxes and enter the following settings:
    • Check "Enabled" for Track 1
    • Enable Header and click Edit
      • On the virtual keybard > Select the left Shift button, then select "5" (not on the numpad) and click OK
    • Enable Terminator and click Edit
      • On the virtual keyboard > Select the left Shift button, then press " / " and click OK
  4. Under Track 2, check the following boxes and enter the following settings:
    • Check "Enabled" for Track 2
    • Enable Header and click Edit
      • On the virtual keyboard > select the " ; " button and click OK 
    • Enable Terminator and click Edit
      • On the virtual keyboard > Select the left Shift button, then select Enter and click OK
    • Ensure the left shift key isn't in "sticky mode"
      • Click the left shift button
      • Click Enter
      • Click the left shift button again
      • Click OK
  5. Ensure that Track 3 is disabled
