CMS site: HTML code that is entered gets changed

An organization might be working in their CMS site and has noted that the HTML code that is being entered does not match what they expected.

Typically, this can be caused by incorrect coding (like missing tags or missing closing marks).  If all coding is correct, chat with Support and reference this article.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. If we go to the frontend of the page, it will show us the content correctly.
  2. When we click on the HTML button in the backend of the CMS, it completely alters the code that has been have entered (it gets rid of links and adds strange target information).
  3. When we return to the Normal view on the backend of the CMS, the content is different (ex: links are missing).
  4. When we go to the URL itself, it displays correctly.
