When a core curriculum is defined, it is not tied to specific academic years and does not affect student course requests automatically, including Online Registration. If course requests have not been added using the core curriculum, then students will not see any requests related to the Core Curriculum in Online Registration and will only see what you have defined for course selection in Configuration, NetClassroom, Registration Setup.
If you add core curriculum course requests to a student in The Education Edge, the course requests will appear as follows in NetClassroom:
- If the student's course request falls within the list of courses selected in Configuration, NetClassroom, Registration Setup, then it will appear like any other row for a course request and the core course will already be selected.
- If the student's course request does not fall within the list of courses selected in Configuration, NetClassroom, Registration Setup, then it will appear in the list of Additional Requests.
Students may change or remove existing course requests in Online Registration, including those added for a core curriculum. If students are required to take specific core courses and should not have the option to remove the requests or take other courses in their place, take the following steps:
- Do not include the core curriculum courses in the setup for Configuration, NetClassroom, Registration Setup.
- Do not globally add the requests for the Core Curriculum until after Online Registration has ended.
