Asterisk added in rejection code and transactions do not process

When using a Beanstream merchant account to process credit cards through batch, an asterisk is added in the rejection code and the payment does not go through.
There are two primary causes of this issue:
  • The Beanstream user does not have permission to perform batch transactions
  • The Beanstream credentials are incorrect in the BBPS merchant account setup
To resolve:
  • In the BBPS merchant account setup, ensure the credentials are correct
  • In the Beanstream web portal, ensure the user (whose credentials are in the BBPS merchant account) has permission to perform batch transactions
