A Blackbaud Sphere FAF participant may upload a YouTube video to their person page, through the Participant HQ. After they pasted the YouTubeTM URL into their page, they receive an error message saying, "Please enter a valid YouTubeTM URL." Or it might upload, but only show a red "X", or no image at all.
The YouTubeTM URL needs to be the real url instead of the short link supplied by YouTubeTM to "share" the video.
To get the real link URL from YouTube: 1. Go to YouTube, search for video 2. Look at the url address on the address bar 3. Copy the Link on the address bar 4. Go back to Participant HQ and paste the URL
Please note: The URL you use must be directly to the video. The link cannot go to a specific video in a playlist, nor can it contain time codes to jump to a specific part of the video. For example, this is a valid URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRGhOtbVpIg (If this is listed as https:// you will want to change it to http://) If it has anything else in the URL, it will not work and you will want to remove it before adding the link.
