You may receive the following error when attempting to make a backup and it fails:  Error: The SQLDMO application object failed to initialize (specific error: one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found. MSG 22029 sev 16, state 1: sqlmaint.exe failed. sqlstate 42000
 
  1. Uninstall the SQL Server 2005 Backwards Compatibility components and remove any SQLDMO.dll file remaining in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\binn folder
  2. Download and install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backwards Compatibility components for SQL Server 2008 on the Blackbaud Management Console server
  3. Perform backup in the Blackbaud Management Console
