Error: The batch requested an answer file from your payment processor. Do you want to retrieve the file at this time? Depending the number of gifts in the batch, your wait can be lengthy.

When processing credit cards through Batch, it is possible that a response from the gateway can be delayed.  At any point between submitting the batch for processing and when the batch is ultimately populated with authorization/rejection codes, this prompt will appear when opening the batch. 

Note: This is a normal prompt, not an error message.
NOTE: This message indicates that the batch has already been submitted for processing.   DO NOT RE-PROCESS THE BATCH.  DOING SO CAN RESULT IN CREDIT CARDS BEING CHARGED MULTIPLE TIMES. 
  • If Yes is selected at the prompt above: “Are you sure you want to wait? You cannot resume to work in The Raiser’s Edge until the batch process completes.”  (Options: 'OK'/'Cancel')
  • If OK is selected at the prompt above: "The batch requires an answer file from your payment processor. Do you want to retrieve the file at this time? Depending on the number of gifts, your wait may be lengthy".  (Options: 'Yes, I’ll wait.'/'No, I’ll check back later').
  • If 'Yes, I'll wait' is selected at the prompt above: The Raiser’s Edge will reach out for the response from the gateway.  If one is available at that time, no messages will be received and the batch will be populated with authorization/rejection codes.  If no response is available, then the batch will hang until it is closed out of (as it is attempting to find a response and cannot locate one).
  • If 'No, I'll check back later' is selected at the prompt above: The Raiser’s Edge will not take any action. 
Note: The batch will not be populated with authorization/rejection codes until the user selects 'Yes, I'll wait' so that the batch can attempt to reach out for a response from the gateway.
