Users can request to receive no further email communication from your organization by clicking a link, on a page or most often in an email, that leads to a page containing a User Email Preferences From part.
For Constituent based emails or if the recipient has a NetCommunity username and password, if the recipient opts out, Profile Update transaction is sent over to the Raiser’s Edge. Processing this transaction marks the Requests no email checkbox on their constituent record's "Bio 1" tab. This will opt the user out of email communications for constituent based emails.
If the constituent opts out of an Imported List or User Defined List, a profile update will not be sent to The Raiser's Edge.
If a user only elects to unsubscribe to one or more individual newsletters on the email preferences page (not globally opting out), no Profile Update will be sent over and that user will still receive other email messages sent from your organization.
