When users create a credit card transmission file from a batch in The Raiser's Edge, is address data sent to the credit card processor? If so, does it send the Preferred address data?
The Raiser's Edge sends address information to the credit card processor using the Preferred Address record. A complete Preferred Address must be listed on the Bio 1 tab of a constituent record in order to successfully process a credit card. Whether or not an AVS check is being completed against the transaction submitted through batch is determinant upon the merchant provider. Batch transactions are considered "offline", therefore many merchants do not complete AVS or CSC (Card Security Code) checks on these types of transactions. Blackbaud Merchant Service, for example, will not check the AVS or CSC on a Batch transaction. Some cardholder's banks will do an address check regardless of the type of transaction (online vs. offline, Card Present vs. Card Not Present), which is why a complete address is required.
