Error: General ODBC Error: [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server] INSERT statement conflicted with FOREIGN KEY constraint ''FK_PROPOSAL_1''. The conflict occurred in database ''DATABASE NAME', table 'dbo.PROSPECT', column 'ID'. Native error 54

On a constituent record, when a user deletes an existing proposal and then re-creates a new proposal, the user may receive the following error when saving the constituent record:

General ODBC Error: [MIcrosoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_PROPOSAL_1". The conflict occurred in database "RE7", table "dbo.PROSPECT", column 'ID'. Native error:547
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The statement has been terminated. Native error:3621

This only occurs if the constituent record does not have any other proposals on their record and also does not have any Ratings on the Prospect tab. It also only occurs if the user does not save the constituent record after deleting the original Proposal but before adding the new Proposal.

Download and install the latest version and patch, if applicable.

Alternate solution:

After deleting the original proposal, but before creating the new Proposal, click Save on the constituent record. Continue creating the new Proposal and the save as normal.

Environment

 Duplicated in 7.85.5026 ; 7.91.5056, patch 20
 7.92.5508
