Error: The Financial Edge has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

When launching The Financial Edge, users may receive the the error: The Financial Edge has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  

The Financial Edge program crash or an immediate shutdown will occur after launching the program.  The database selection and login screens will not appear prior to this shutdown; however, the login manager icon in the system tray will persist and remain red.
Add an exception to Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for the FE7Shell.exe by completing the following steps:
  1. Right-click on Computer and select Properties
  2. Select Advanced system settings
  3. Under Performance, select the Settings button
  4. Select Data Execution Prevention tab
  5. The radio button for “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select” will already be selected


     
  6. Click Add button and add the FE7Shell.exe executable as an exception, click Apply
  7. Launch The Financial Edge and attempt to login
