The results of an Export that filters Constituent Code, Assigned Solicitor dates, and Event dates can vary depending on the dates entered on each exported record. For most consistent results, it's best to use Date From and Date To consistently on each type of record.

If Start and End date filters are not defined in the export (as below), the export will ignore start and end dates on the record.

See the scenarios below for more information on how Start and End date filters can affect the results of an Export. Assigned Solicitor is the field referenced in the examples, but the export processes the same way for Constituent Code and Event Start and End dates.

Scenario 1:

The Solicitor's Date From and Date To fields are both blank.

Export Behavior:
Regardless of the settings in the Start Date and/or End Date filters, the solicitor is included in the Export.

Scenario 2:

Solicitor has a date in both Date From and Date To

Export Behavior:
  • Only Start Date is defined in the Export: The Solicitor is exported if their Date From is greater than or equal to Start Date.
  • Only End Date is defined in the Export: The Solicitor is exported if their Date To is less than or equal to End Date.
  • Both Start Date and End Date are defined in the export: The Solicitor is exported if their Date From is greater than or equal to the Start Date AND Date to is less than or equal to the End Date.
Examples:
  • Solicitor assignment with a Date From of 01/01/16 and a Date To of 12/31/16
    • Using only a Start Date filter in the Export
      • 12/31/15: Will include the solicitor assignment
      • 01/01/16: Will include the solicitor assignment
      • 01/02/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
    • Using only an End Date filter in the Export
      • 12/30/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
      • 12/31/16: Will include the solicitor assignment
      • 01/01/17: Will include the solicitor assignment
    • Using both a Start Date filter and an End Date filter
      • Start Date of 01/01/16 and End Date of 12/31/16: Will include the solicitor assignment
      • Start Date of 01/01/16 and End Date of 12/30/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
      • Start Date of 01/02/16 and End Date of 12/31/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
Scenario 3:

Solicitor has a Date From, but no Date To defined

Export Behavior:
  • Only Start Date is defined in the Export: The Solicitor is exported if their Date From is greater than or equal to Start Date.
  • Only End Date is defined in the Export: The Solicitor is exported if their Date To is less than or equal to End Date.
    • This will effectively eliminate this solicitor from being returned since it attempts to compare to a value that is nonexistent
  • Both Start Date and End Date are defined in the export: The Solicitor is exported if their Date From is greater than or equal to the Start Date AND Date to is less than or equal to the End Date.
    • This will effectively eliminate this solicitor from being returned since it attempts to compare to a value that is nonexistent
Examples:
  • Solicitor assignment with a Date From of 01/01/16 and no Date To set
    • Using only a Start Date filter
      • 12/31/15: Will include the solicitor assignment
      • 01/01/16: Will include the solicitor assignment
      • 01/02/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
    • Using only an End Date filter
      • 12/30/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
      • 12/31/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
      • 01/01/17: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
    • Using both a Start Date filter and an End Date filter
      • Start Date of 01/01/16 and End Date of 12/31/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
      • Start Date of 01/01/16 and End Date of 12/30/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
      • Start Date of 01/02/16 and End Date of 12/31/16: Will NOT include the solicitor assignment
