If this is a new install in which BBJobUser has never been used:
  1. Create the domain user that will be used in place of BBJobUser. 
  2. Open SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)and go to the Object Explorer
    1. Under the SQL Server tree, navigate to Security > Credentials
    2. Right-click the Credentials node and choose New Credential
    3. For the Credential name, use the same name as the user created in step 1
    4. For Identity, select the Windows user you created, enter the user’s password can confirm.  
      NOTE: If the password ever changes, you will need to manually update the credential here.
  3. Create the SQL Server Agent Proxy (Still in SSMS)
    1. Expand the SQL Server Agent node >Proxies > ActiveX Script.
    2. Right-click the ActiveX Script noted and select “New Proxy” E
    3. Enter the Proxy name “Blackbaud ActiveX Proxy – “ followed by the database name (For example “Blackbaud ActiveX Proxy – BBInfinity”)
    4. For Credential name, select the credential created form step 2
    5. Ensure that ActiveX Script subsystem is checked.
    6. Select the Principals page from the list on the left
    7. Click the Add… button and check the users that connect to SQL Server from the web server (such as NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE and/or <machine name>\ASPNET users)
    8. Click OK to save the proxy
  4. Add the domain user from step 1 to the Blackbaud application
    1.  Administration functional area > Security > Application Users
    2. Click Add
    3. Supply the domain name and User name
    4. Click Save
    5. Go to this user
    6. Click “Grant system administrator” under Tasks on the left

 If this is an existing installation that wants to change from BBJobUser to a domain account:
  1. Create the domain user that will be used in place of BBJobUser. 
  2. Open SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)and go to the Object Explorer
    1. Under the SQL Server tree, navigate to Security > Credentials
    2. Right-click on the existing BBJobUser credential and click Properties
    3. For Identity, select the Windows user you created, enter the user’s password can confirm.
     NOTE: If the password ever changes, you will need to manually update the credential here
  • Add the domain user from step 1 to the Blackbaud application
    1.  Administration functional area > Security > Application Users
    2. Click Add
    3. Supply the domain name and User name
    4. Click Save
    5. Go to this user
    6. Click “Grant system administrator” under Tasks on the left
