If the account has activity and was created in error, the account can be edited to change the status to inactive. You will want to first remove any balances in the account with a journal entry.

To delete the account if there is no activity:

1. In General Ledger, click on Accounts, Chart of Accounts.
2. Click on the grey square to the left of the account so that the entire row is highlighted in blue.
3. Click on the delete button.
