Default tributes set in batch missing from record

Defaults can be set up for a certain Honor/Memorial to default for gifts in a batch.  This will allow users to use one batch for all tribute gifts that are going to the same Honor/Memorial constituent.
After committing a batch of gifts and browsing to the gift record, users may notice that there is no Tribute information listed. 

 

We have evaluated this issue as a bug and we have determined it will not be addressed in the program in its current state.  In this case, we believe the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue. We strive to select the most impactful changes and issues to address with each release to accelerate the rate at which we deliver new features while sustaining the highest level of quality for our customers.

Alternative Solution:

Add new constituents from within the first cell without first linking to an existing constituent
OR
Manually add the Tribute to the gift either in the batch or from the record

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Batch > New Gift Batch
  2. Go to Defaults tab
  3. Select a default Honor/Memorial to be applied to all gifts in the batch
  4. Click Save, then Data Entry
  5. In the first row, initially type an existing constituent name (Robert Hernandez)
  6. Press Tab
  7. Click back in the Constituent Name cell, and type the name of a constituent NOT in the database
  8. Click binoculars
  9. Click Add New
  10. Tab through the rest of the row, adding any required information
  11. Save and Commit the batch
  12. Go to the new constituent record, open the new gift, and see the Tribute tab is blank. The Tribute information would exist if the new constituent had been added directly in the first cell OR if it were an existing constituent.
