The Raiser's Edge crashes when changing the Print Setup on a Windows 7 machine

The Raiser's Edge program closes unexpectedly when making changes to the print setup from File > Print Setup within The Raiser's Edge program. This happens on Windows 7 systems, and users will experience one of the following errors:

RE7 has stopped working
Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
View problem details  [Check online for a solution and close the program] [Close the program]

OR

RE7.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Debug or Close

 

Download and install the latest version and patch, if applicable.  

Alternative solution:
If Microsoft Groove 2007 is installed on the workstation, uninstall it.

If Microsoft Office 2010 is installed on the workstation, uninstall Sharepoint 2010.

If the issue persists,

  • Change the print settings before opening the Report or Query by clicking on File > Print Setup in The Raiser's Edge.
  • Preview the output (for Report or Mailings), then change the Print Setup by clicking on the Print Setup icon from the preview window
