Error: The conversion to version 7.82 R1 has failed (Update ID: 1340). Please report the following error: Error Number: 2147211486. General ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'sys.check_constraints'.

This error occurs while updating The Financial Edge\The Education Edge\Blackbaud Student Information Systems after the patch update is complete and you are using SQL Server 2000 to run your database.  When logging into your database the first time after patch 11 has been installed, the system  then returns a prompt saying that the database needs to be updated. This error occurs when the database update is running.
On March 31, 2010, Blackbaud ended support on Microsoft SQL Server 2000.  End of support means we no longer test software releases or address product issues with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, but we will answer your software questions with versions that are compatible with SQL Server 2000.  To resolve the error, either:
  • Update or install SQL Server 2005* or 2008*, restore to a backup of your database before the patch was installed, and then install patch 11 again.

  • Download patch11mdb.exe (12.0M), double click the file, and extract the afnsys7.mdb file to the SysDB folder [default location:<install>\Blackbaud\The Financial Edge\SysDB] on the machine running the database revisions.

Note:  If you are still using any version 6 products, such as Student Billing 6 or Payroll 6, you must restore to a backup and continue to use SQL Server 2000 SP4 as version 6 products are not compatible with SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008.

*For more details on supported SQL Server versions, please see our system requirements.
