1. Uninstall MapPoint 2006 from your workstation 
    • Go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs
    • Select MapPoint 2006 and follow the wizard to remove it
  2. Set the User Account Control to Never Notify  
    • Go to Start and choose the option for Control Panel
    • Open User Accounts (if grouped by category, this option will be under the User Accounts category) 
    • Click the link to Change User Account Control settings 
    • Drag the slider-bar down to the bottom level for Never notify
    • Click OK and restart the computer
  3. Insert the MapPoint installation disc
  4. Browse to the CD-ROM drive and right-click the MapPoint Setup.exe file, then select Run as Administrator
  5. Proceed through the installation wizard until completed
