The security timeout feature does not work when using Windows Authentication

When using Windows Authentication, The Raiser's Edge security timeout feature does not work .  Windows will lock the workstation when set to lock but The Raiser's Edge remains open.
The reason for this functionality is because normally if we display the inactivity timeout screen for RE, we would prompt the user to enter their RE username and password to unlock the screen. When using Windows Authentication, there’s no way for us to prompt the user for their RE username and password because the user is based off of the currently signed in Windows User. It would make no sense for us to prompt the user for their username and password when they have already just provided it to unlock the Windows session.
