Complete each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:
  1. Open the letter template used in the mailing or membership card and verify that the correct merge field is being used (i.e. <Last Name> is not being used by mistake instead of <Primary Salutation>)
  2. If this is an appeal mailing, check which name format is being used by highlighting the mailing and clicking edit. Click the Pencil Icon next to the name format drop down menu to see details for this name format option.
  3. Go to the Constituent's record and click on the Names tab. Verify that the salutation/addressee being used in the mailing or on the membership card appears correctly, if it does not, edit it as needed
