To resolve the issue, locate any sales orders tied to the phone number, email address or address, and disassociate them with the order:
  1. Open the constituent record
  2. Click the Sales Order tab
  3. Click on the sales order number to open the sales order record
  4. Click Edit delivery information from the task menu on the left side
  5. Select the correct, or blank, value in the phone number, email, or address dropdown
  6. Click Save
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for each sales order on the constituent to confirm the email address/phone number is not tied to any sales orders
  8. Repeat steps 1-6 for any other Constituents who share that email address/phone number (ex. a spouse or household member)
  9. Open the Constituent record > Contact tab, and attempt to delete the email address or phone number again.
If you still receive the error, the sales order may have emailed a receipt to that email address.  In this case, we cannot delete the email.  Use these steps to determine if this is the case and inactivate the email instead:
  1. Open the constituent record
  2. Click the Sales Order tab
  3. Click on the sales order number to open the sales order record
  4. Under General information at the top, see if there is an email address entered. If there is, we cannot delete the email.
  5. Open the Constituent record > Contact tab
  6. Click the arrow for the email address > Click Edit
  7. Mark the checkbox to Do not send email to this address
  8. Click Save
