The ODBC connection is wrong or broken. Reestablish the ODBC connection using the following steps.

1) Go to Start --> Run and type odbcad32
2) Go to SystemDNS tab and click on Add
3) Select SQL Server Driver and click Finish
4) Put PESERVER in the Name and the description fields
5) Type in the name of the PE SQL server you intend to connect to and click Next
6) Select SQL authentication and use the proprietary PEUser account (or an account with the same permissions)
7) Mark the box to change the default database to and select a the PE database you are integrating with
8) Click Next, Finish and test the ODBC connection

Verify that the Patron Edge fields in Raiser's Edge now work.
