To resolve this, verify the correct Raiser's Edge database number is listed on the configuration.aspx page:
  1. On the the RE7 Web Services web server, click Start > Run
  2. Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor
  3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackbaud if the server is 32bit and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\wow3264node\Blackbaud if the server is 64bit
  4. Review the information contained in the General key for each database, which will be listed under REINI_#, where # is the database number
  5. Take note of the database number that contains your production Raiser's Edge database's connection settings under the General registry key
  6. Open a web browser and navigate to
  7. Update the database number under RE7 Web Service and Custom Service and Save the changes
  8. Restart IIS
