Duplicate emails sent to recipients when sending email from NetCommunity

When sending an email message in NetCommunity , message report shows all linked Raiser's Edge constituents receiving the email twice.  
First message displays constituent's first name only, without Raiser's Edge link icon.
Second message displays constituent's first and last name with Raiser's Edge link icon.
Check to make sure that one of the lists is not an imported list.
NetCommunity does not recognize duplicate recipients between two different types of data sources.
