Steps to generate the widget code and insert it into an Unformatted Text part in Blackbaud NetCommunity:

Get the widget code
  1. Go to http://sharethis.com/
  2. Click the GET THE BUTTON link on the page or in the Footer of the page under the Get Sharing Tools, click Button for sites
  3. Step 1. Platform - Select the Website Platform, then click Next: Step 2. Pick a Style
  4. Step 2. Pick a Style - Click on the type of button you would like (Top left Button is recommended), then click Next: Step 3. Customize
  5. Step 3. Customize - Mark the radio button for the size (Small or Large), Select the CopyNShare settings you desire, and select the "Selected Services" you want to display.
  6. Click the FINISH: Get the Code button
  7. Either sign in or create an account.
  8. Select the Share Widget style, then copy and paste the code from section 1 and 2 into a new text document.

Insert the code into NetCommunity
  1. Select Site Explorer, Parts.
  2. Select New Part.
  3. Create an Unformatted text part.
  4. Mark the checkbox for "show advanced options"
  5. Select "In the <body> tag with the part" from the drop-down list
    • Note: The WYSIWYG internal HTML editor does not allow for blank <span> tags to be inserted into it.  There will need to be a blank space added for the code to remain in the HTML code editor.
      Example: <span class="Facebook"> </span> must be <span class="Facebook">&nbsp;</span>
  6. Insert the code, and set any other desired settings on the part.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Edit the page or template where you want the part to be used.
  9. Select the appropriate place holder.
  10. Insert the part
