Note: Users can update their existing events to the Essentials coding after the release in order to take advantage of the new design features. Users should keep in mind that when they switch from Standard to Essentials, anything entered in Front Page Customization will be lost. Blackbaud always suggests making a duplicate of your existing event before switching from Standard to Essentials so as to keep a record of the coding that has been entered.

How to update to Essentials Coding:
  1. Browse to Communities > Special Events > Friends Asking Friends > Kintera Thon.
  2. Mark the box to the left of your event and choose duplicate in order to save a copy of the event.
  3. Once you have a copy of your event, hover over the non-copy form of the event and choose Properties.
  4. Mark the option to Use Essentials Design Templates.
  5. Scroll down and click Save.
  6. Hover over your event and choose Website Info to open the event with the new functionality.
Note: Should you decide to revert the changes, simply go back to Properties and select to Use Standard Design Templates to restore the Thon Event.

How to add or edit Header, Subheader, and Body Text:
  1. Browse to Communities > Special Events > Friends Asking Friends > Kintera Thon.
  2. Hover over your event and choose Website Info.
  3. Click on Event Text and scroll down to the section labeled Home Page Text.
  4. Enter a Header, Subheader, and Body Text.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Update Your Event Now at the top of the Webinfo Checklist.
Note: The color and font of the Header, Subheader, and Body Text can be changed in the Website Design section of Webinfo Checklist.
