Error: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application - when entering constituents in batch.

When entering individuals in a Constituent batch where Phone fields are included and marked as required, users may receive the error:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

The error appears if the required Phone fields are not populated. This issue only occurs when working in the Smart Client application.

Download and install the latest version and patch, if applicable.

Alternative Solutions:

1. Use WebShell instead of Smart Client when working with a constituent batch that has phone fields marked as required.
2. Enter a value in all required fields.
3. Edit the batch template, and either remove the batch fields or do not mark them as required.
