Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. Do you want to see more details? - when viewing the Event calendar

When navigating to the Event Calendar in Smart Client, users periodically receive the error message:

Attempted to read or write protected memory.  This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.  Do you want to see more details?

System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.DispatchMessageW(MSG&msg)

This does not occur every time users go to the calendar, but if they repeatedly return to it, the error will occur.
Download and install the latest patch, which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.
