1. Navigate to Contacts > Database Management > Attribute Setup > Segmentation
  2. Check to see if you have a relevant Category to place your Segment in
  3. If there is not a relevant Category click on New, then select Segment Category
  4. Enter a name and the kind of segment this category will contain.

    Note: Each category can only hold one kind of segment.
     
  5. After saving the Category or selected an existing Category, highlight the category in the list and click New 
  6. Select Segment
  7. Enter the name
  8. Click Save 

You now have a new Segment to use as you need.  Types of Segments are as follows:

  Individual Records - Segments are available for selection and display for Individual Contact records 
  Organization Records - Segments are available for selection and display for Organization Contact records 
  Web Features/Content - Segments are available for establishing relevancy between web pages and content in CMS 
  Unit Records - Segments are available for selection and display for Unit Contact records
