When configuring a survey, whether or not the constituent's record is updated depends on a few things.

  • A survey question must be configured to update the constituent record. The only question type that updates the constituent record fields by default is the Constituent Registration Info type but other types can be configured to update constituent records..
  • The constituent must be logged in or there must be a question of the type Constituent Registration Info and it must be configured to at least ask for the email address.
    • When sending an email to ensure that constituent information is updated, append the ?autologin=TRUE argument to the survey's URL.  This argument automatically logs the constituent into the session.
    • When configuring a Constituent Registration Info question in step d, Select Layout and Processing Options, the constituent records will not be updated if you select Accept the response without updating the Profile of the constituent.
