I am trying to add constituents that take my survey to an interest opt-out group so that we can use that as a basis for sending publications. I noticed that the constituents who took this survey are not added to the opt-out group. What am I doing wrong?
This is because Hidden Interest Update can only add constituents to opt-in groups. I recommend using interest opt-ins to determine which publications you need to send. Emails in Luminate allow you to exclude certain groups from your target audience. For example:
Let's say you created a survey to add constituents to eNewsletter B and going forward, you don't want to send eNewsletter A to them. When you create your email, you can simply add eNewsletter B as your target audience and then add eNewsletter A to your exclusion list.
Additionally, you could generate an opt-in group for an interest and then change the name of the group to help you identify the purpose of the group. You could have an interest opt-in group named something like "Opt-outs for eNewsletter A".
