Soft Credit Gifts To:

    • Donor - The person who actually gave the gift exports. The amount is not included in the soft credit recipient's total.

    • Soft credit recipients - The amount is included for the person who received the soft credit. The amount does not show in the export for the donor (hard credit). However, if one gift was soft credited to multiple donors, this option may inflate the totals because each donor may be soft credited for the full amount. For example, Joe donated $25. Both Mary and Bill are soft credited for the full $25. In the export, the gift amount displays for both Mary and Bill, which amounts to $50, twice the amount of the actual gift. To prevent inflated totals when multiple donors are soft credited for the same gift, mark the Split Evenly option.

    • Credited to Both - As long as both records are included in the export, the amount given will show in both constituent's totals. For example, Joe donated $25, and Mary is soft credited for the full $25. In the export, the gift amount displays for both Mary and Joe, which amounts to $50, twice the amount of the actual gift. To prevent inflated totals when multiple donors are soft credited for the same gift, mark the Split Evenly option.

    Credit Matching Gifts To:

    • Donor - The matching gift amount is included in the total amount for the individual donor.
    • MG Company - The matching gift amount is included in the total for the company who matched the gift

    • Both - The matching gift amount is included in the total for both the individual donor and the matching gift company for the gift. This option causes the matching gifts to display twice and could inflate the totals totals.
