Emails are not being received when sent from a Yahoo.com email address

Emails sent through a supporter's Team Fundraiser in Blackbaud NetCommunity, Acknowledgement emails and emails sent through the Messages module in BBNC allow the ability to add a "From" email address. Emails aren't being received by the recipients when an organization, or event participant, uses a Yahoo.com email address in the From email address field.

Emails are not being delivered to Yahoo when the From address used in the message is an @yahoo.com domain, or any other domain participating in DMARC.
On April 08, 2014 Yahoo updated their DMARC settings in an effort to limit the amount of Spam emails that are sent using Yahoo.com email addresses. This change caused any email provider who performed a DMARC check on email messages using a From: email address that contains @yahoo.com to reject those messages.

Currently, the best alternative is to change the email address being used in the "From:" field to not include an @yahoo.com email address. Follow the steps below for the relevant changes to Team Fundraiser Dashboard email.

Team Fundraiser Preferred Email:
  1. The Team Fundraiser Dashboard uses the Preferred Email type as mapped under Administration - Sites & Settings.
  2. For Team Captains or Participants to change their Preferred Email address, they will need to update a Profile Form with the new value.
  3. Navigate to a Profile Form on the website
  4. Change the Preferred Email address to something other than an @yahoo.com, or any other ISP's using a DMARC check.

Note:  This can be done temporarily to send email from the Team Fundraiser, and changed back to preserve the preferred email address for other mailings.
Note:
For Bulk Email Messages, Email Campaigns, Scheduled Emails, Acknowledgements, eCards, and Notifications, use the guidance of the Best Practice for email and the Email Services Overview guide.
We recommend all clients use a domain controlled either by them, or by Blackbaud, with an SPF record set up and configured with the Blackbaud email servers and DKIM signing. For more information on Yahoo's decision, read the following:
