How to exclude constituents from appeal mailing

Sometimes it is necessary to exclude a list of constituents from receiving an appeal mailing.  This Knowledgebase walks through the steps to do this.
  1. In Analysis > Information Library, click Add an ad-hoc query.
  2. Select the source view of Constituents.
  3. Add your criteria of constituents to exclude.
  4. On the Set Save Options tab, mark the box to create a selection, a dynamic selection, and show the selection in the Query Designer.  
  5. Click Save.
  6. In Marketing and Communications > Appeal Mailings, click on the appeal mailing.  On the letters tab, click Edit.
  7. Under "Exclude constituents based on the following," click Edit next to Solicit Codes and Selections.
  8. Under  "Exclude constituents that belong to the following selections," click Add.
  9. Select the constituents query that was built.
  10. Click OK, Next, and Finish and Close.
