When registering for a Calendar Event or TeamRaiser, you may experience the following error:
The email address you entered matches an existing constituent or administrator account associated with a name that is different than the one you entered, which makes it invalid because each email address/name combination on this site must be unique. Try entering it again to be sure you have entered it correctly. If you feel this message is in error or need additional assistance, contact your site administrator.
This error means that a (not-logged-in) constituent is registering using an existing email address, but with a different name. Since the system cannot create a new constituent record with the same email address, it produces this error message. Also confirm whether the email address is associated with an admin record. Admin's can't perform any constituent action such as registration, or donations and etc.
By default Luminate Online enforces unique email. If this is disabled, the system will create duplicates any time a constituent takes any action on your site without being logged in even if the name exactly matches what is in the system. As such, we strongly discourage turning that functionality off. However, this can be turned off in some applications which has less duplication risk. The applications where this is possible include:
