Error: Required field missing: Primary Addressee or Saluation - when processing transactions in the Blackbaud NetCommunity plug-in

You are processing transactions in the NetCommunity Plugin in The Raiser's Edge and the following error occurs:

Required field missing: Primary Addressee

This typically occurs when Primary Addressee is a required field in The Raiser's Edge, but this information is not on the contact record or was not collecting during the NetCommunity transaction.

Add default values set for Addressee or Salutation in the Plugin:

  1. Navigate to The Raiser's Edge> NetCommunity plugin
  2. Click Options
  3. Select New Constituents
  4. Click Add New next to Default Set applied to all new individuals
  5. Select the Addressee/Salutations fields
  6. Enter a default field
  7. Click Save and Close
  8. Navigate back to the Plugin and process the transaction/s
Temporarily make the field not required:
  1. Log in to The Raiser's Edge
  2. Navigate to Config>Fields>Constituent
  3. Locate Primary Addressee or Primary Salutation and unmark the box for required
  4. Navigate back to the Plugin and process the transaction/s
If you are processing a gift for a Matching Donation:
  • Verify the Organization record in The Raiser's Edge has a Primary Addressee or Primary Salutation
