To avoid “or” statements in your query filter criteria, create multiple ad-hoc queries to replace “or” statements and then merge the resulting selections with the Merge selections task on the Query page.
  1. Create separate queries for the filters that you want to join with “or” statements.
  2. Click Merge selections on the Query page to merge the selections for the queries.
  3. On the Selection Record Type Search screen, select the source view for the queries and click Select.
  4. On the Merge selections screen, select the selections under Build a new selection and the select either A or B under Include records that are in so that the new merged selection will include records from either selection.
